Severe lack of updates due to my vacation in VA for Christmas.
Before I left Melbourne, I attended the wedding of Adam and Tammy Yohrling on December 20th. They got married at the Radisson beachside hotel at 3pm. There was a reception afterwards and all of their friends and family were invited. I didn't drink too much and it was quite fun. We had to rickroll Adam of course and the DJ was happy to oblige.
I drove to VA on the 21st and got here in time for dinner. Spent some time catching up with family and had a shopping trip day to Roanoke before Christmas. My sister came down from Philly a few days before I got here. Dad bought a new board game and we opened that on Christmas eve to play: Blokus. Christmas day we all got to open our gifts and had a big turkey dinner afterwards. I got 2 of the main things I asked for, the Genesis 1970-1975 box set and the aftermarket leather armrest for my Toyota Yaris.
Yesterday the girls went shopping early in the morning and Dad took me to the outdoor shooting range that is near Blacksburg. He bought a 9mm pistol a few weeks ago and some of his friends from work took him recently so he got to try that out and got to shoot a variety of other guns. We went through about 200 rounds with the pistol and then headed home. Other than the 37 degree temperature it was fun.
Brittany's boyfriend arrived yesterday and they went out for lunch. He brought his ferret and Brit's ferret with him so we have a couple extra pets staying with us for a few days. For dinner we went to P-K's pizza in Blacksburg and played some pool. They have some specialty pies like hot wing pizza which was pretty tasty. After that we headed home and watched a movie that Brittany got for Chris, the Cohen brothers' Burn After Reading.
Today Dad is making his BBQ ribs and I am not sure what else is on the agenda. At some point we will probably watch The Dark Knight on blu-ray, one of the gifts I got from my sister. I have to leave tomorrow to drive back to Melbourne, work on Monday awaits. I do have the 31st and Jan 1st off, so that will give me some time to catch up on stuff I need to do at home.

Dolphin madness. Not the football team.
Hulu has been adding old cartoons to their lineup. Tonight I saw that they had the Fat Albert Cosby cartoon from the 70s. Watched a couple of them... wow. If that show was aired in 2009 it wouldn't stand a chance. I think Bill Cosby wanted to be on Sanford and Son because he kept trying to fix up that junk in his garage.

One week left before I head home for Christmas. I have a couple things arriving tomorrow that I have to wrap but then that should be it.
The American automaker bailout didn't pass this past week. Somehow I ended up on Michael Moore's email list a while back and he sent out an angry message about the Senate denying the bailout in order to break up the UAW. Personally I think the union is one of the big problems that they have and I'm glad they didn't just hand over the loan without some conditions in regard to UAW.
I was at Big Lots the other night and found some $3 DVDs. Picked up a few, including Saving Silverman. Jack Black is hilarious in that movie. "Hey, I brought you some more videos. You've got your choice: porno or monster trucks, oh and I got one that's both."
Today is my last good opportunity to wash and wax the car before the holiday break and hopefully it won't rain.

Yesterday we got a batch of Dell Precision M6400 laptops for the training department at work. 17" screen, Core 2 Extreme quad-core processors, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, backlit keyboard, ExpressCard + PCMCIA, DisplayPort, slot-load DVDRW, eSATA, Firewire 800, contactless Smartcard support, 2MP webcam, and capability for dual RAID drives. They come with a desktop-sized power brick that can put out 210W. I was drooling just a little bit. They also have 2 free memory slots to bump them to 8GB if needed without spending a fortune.
This is the final week for my Computer Organization class. The last exam is supposed to be posted tonight and I have to complete it by Sunday.
