Filled out my tax return last night, e-filed, and got my acceptance email today. I'm getting a decent size refund from the IRS because of student loan interest that I paid last year.

<drealoth> one of the differences between a geek and a normal person is that, when a warranty ends, a normal person is worried that is might break
<drealoth> the geek, on the other hand, is like 'hey, I can take it apart now.'

Had a fun weekend. Watched Eagle Eye at my apartment with some friends, then saw Paul Blart Mall Cop on Sunday evening. It was good entertainment, not a 10/10 movie but it definitely had some funny moments.
Adam traded in his 260,000 mile Ford van and bought a new Mazdaspeed 3 hatchback on Saturday so I went over to check it out. It's a really nice looking car, the GT trim has all the luxury features. He let me try to drive it a little and I had trouble with the overly-sensitive clutch and gas. Didn't stall it but I got pretty close a few times. Lots of power with the turbo. Sunday I went over for their weekend BBQ, next week Nate is hosting a Superbowl party.

I'm not the only one tonight! 3 students. Somewhat bittersweet though because now we have to start with the basics. Like command prompts and basic Unix commands.
I turned my heat on last night for about 10 minutes, but it's getting warmer tomorrow so looks like I won't need it again for a while.

Welcome President Obama. I watched the swearing-in ceremony on TV at work, our CEO even recommended that everybody take a break from non-critical work and tune in.
SNL does Aladdin. As did the genie, apparently. But this clip absolutely cracked me up. A nice refresher course though.
T-Mobile made a rather epic commercial.

In Systems Administration class right now. The other 2 students didn't show up today so it's just me and the teacher. Hopefully they will show up next week.
This was the big news story today. Good thing nobody was killed.

1980's programmable animatronics meet modern music. The Rock-afire Explosion. Another good one.
In another youtube genre, apparently there is a MIDI composition program out there called Mario Paint and people have made all sorts of music with it. Like this incredibly awesome song. All using Nintendo sound effects.

I might see if I can find one of these on eBay soon, just to say that I've got a $50 billion dollar note. Looks like they are pretty much calling it quits with the local currency anyway.
Finally got all the speakers upgraded. I went to dinner at Duffy's with some friends tonight.
We might be seeing a lot of late model year used Hyundais in dealer lots this year.
Looks like Mr. Jones made a 2nd hilarious youtube commercial. The old one.

First post of the new year, a little behind I guess. Back to "real" work this week, unlike last week which was smooth sailing. My next FIT class starts next Monday so I have a little more time before that kicks in. I had lunch today with the guys from work and Nate told us about his skiing trip over the break.
I called Mom yesterday to wish her a happy birthday. Mine isn't too far off in March, and then it will be 22 years behind me and onto #23.
I have a few speakers to take apart tonight because my remaining upgrade kits are arriving tomorrow. Best $100/pair I could ever spend, it really transformed them. I haven't even watched a movie since I've been back, waiting to get them all matching first. av123 is having some difficulties lately especially with their electronic components, but the speaker lines are popular as ever.
This past weekend I took a day trip down to Delray Beach on Saturday and that was fun. The weather in the morning was perfect for a drive.
