I just realized today that I had absolutely nothing posted yet for the month of July. It has been a busy month.

At the end of June through July 1st I was on a househunting trip in Raleigh, NC. It was paid for by my company, free airfare, rental car, hotel, meals, gas, etc. I looked at a lot of apartment complexes and 3 rental houses. I ended up renting a house in north Raleigh off Leesville Rd, quite close to Brier Creek. I met up with Jenny Bo, a friend from NCSSM, and had lunch. I also stopped by to see my aunt & uncle who live in Cary.

I returned to Florida until July 9th. We had to get all the servers ready to be moved to Morrisville, NC. The truck left that night and I went up on Friday the 10th. I assisted with getting the equipment unpacked and set up in the datacenter. Instead of staying at a hotel, I started the lease on my house early and stayed there. I came back to Florida on July 14th and returned to work today. Andrew gave me a ride back from the airport to the house.

My final move to Raleigh is planned for July 24th. Or rather that is the day I'm renting a moving truck. I might drive up on the 25th instead, not sure yet. Andrew is planning to help me out and drive my car up to NC while I drive the truck. I will be returning to work on the 27th of July most likely.

Between now and the 24th I have to assist with clearing out the Melbourne location, preparing all remaining electronic assets to be boxed and shipped. After the move I will be on the server team full-time except for dealing with customer systems when they arrive. Some of my coworkers are moving to NC around the same time as me, so at least I will see some familiar faces up there.

On my drive home from work this evening on US-1 I saw Endeavor lift off.

The news is still being auto-tuned. Check out all 6 of them, especially #4 which is about Sotomayor and an angry gorilla.

This Saturday will probably be my last day volunteering at Elmira's wildlife sanctuary.
