Well, I made it past the 90-day mark with Varrow. No longer on my "probationary" employment period. I do miss seeing some of my previous coworkers at Aviat Networks, but moving to Varrow was absolutely the right choice for my own personal development. They have some really terrific and intelligent people who are constantly trying to improve the company. The travel hasn't been much of a downside for me, if anything it helps keep things fresh since I am not always going to the same place each week.
I watched The Book of Eli tonight on blu-ray, it was surprisingly good for the $8 I paid on Amazon. Gary Oldman makes a good villain. I also recently watched 21 which was interesting but the plot felt a little rushed.
Last Saturday was the annual charity auction for CCI, this time at the Mill Creek Country Club in Mebane. I was again in charge of generating receipts for all the items that people purchased/won. This year I participated in the auction as a bidder, won some items in the silent auction that sold for less than I thought they would but I was happy to get them. The live auction part generated quite a bit of money though so that was good. One particularly generous (and inebriated) supporter donated around $5000 on top of another $5000 for auction items. I had a couple glasses of the "Arthur" wine from Iron Gate and quite enjoyed it, will have to pick up some when I am back in Mebane.
This weekend I'm heading up to New York for my sister's wedding celebration. Going to stop in Pennsylvania on the way and see Adam and Tammy Yohrling.

I'm back in business! June 1st seemed like a good day to finally get off my duff and upload my web site files. This web site went offline approximately 1 year ago, when Florida Tech closed down my public web storage area. I've now got these files on my own web hosting account (Polurnet).
I haven't gotten a chance to update all the areas yet, but I made some tweaks to the index page, contact page, and links page. Also some of the old photo galleries will stay offline because I've only got 150MB of space. Not that anybody would be looking for them anyway.
A lot has changed in a year, that's for sure. I don't work at Aviat Networks anymore, now I work for Varrow Inc. and I've got my own work-related blog now. Well, mostly work-related.
The last few days I've spent some time revisiting lots of the audio forums that I used to spend a LOT of time reading and contributing to. I decided to buy a couple Rythmik F15 subwoofers that should arrive tomorrow; that had a lot to do with my renewed interest. Fortunately most of the sites are still going strong, with the exception of Sound and Vision magazine forum. Appears that a lot of members headed elsewhere.
