Oddly enough, I have a free day tomorrow with no other obligations. That sort of thing rarely happens.
Originally I was supposed to be in San Jose this weekend, helping relocate servers to the new Aviat Networks building in Santa Clara. Trip was booked and I was all set to get on a plane Thursday morning. At the last minute I found out that they weren't ready to move systems over Memorial Day weekend, so I had to quickly cancel my travel reservations. Scott had already driven over from Tennessee to handle the NetBoss lab duties while I was going to be traveling. He stuck around until this afternoon and then drove back home. We had a few new leased servers that arrived so he helped me get those installed in the datacenter. Also got my first experience with configuring iSCSI on Solaris.
I had already told CCI and my parents that I would be unavailable this weekend. Already had Jenny lined up to feed my cats, so I notified her that I was going to be around after all. My parents are planning to go hiking at a new place near Winston Salem on Sunday, so I plan to drive over that way and meet up with them. Tomorrow is supposed to be rainy so I will likely stick around here. Right now listening to my latest Glee albums that arrived from Amazon. After that I got the "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" blu-ray to watch (can't go wrong with Kevin Smith comedy). Courtesy of a $50 gift card I received from the IT dept.
FIT recently posted an updated version of their web site. Much better now. I am enjoying having the summer off, but gotta keep going with the master's degree in the Fall term. Only 2 courses left, which means I should have already petitioned to graduate if I finish both classes during the Fall. Oops.
CCI benefit auction is approaching on June 12th and I will be helping with that. About to order some more laser toner to print receipts.

Today is my 5-year anniversary at work. Two years of internships and part-time at Harris Corporation, then 2.5 years as Harris Stratex Networks, and the last few months as Aviat Networks.
I got to pick a 5-year reward from their catalog, so I got a nice duffel bag. Not as good as bonus cash, but appreciated anyway. The important perk is the additional week of vacation accrual on a yearly basis.
