Pundit Kitchen. No cats, just politics.
I finally ordered Adam and Tammy's wedding present today. One less thing to worry about before Christmas.

I guess some people at Wal-Mart do have a sense of humor.
I got some Christmas shopping done yesterday and today. Supporting the economy and all that. Didn't end up going to the auto show though, nobody else wanted to make the trip over there.
This afternoon it was sunny and 78 degrees outside, great biking weather. Not sure if it's actually November.

May the fries be with you.
I don't feel so bad about not taking vitamins.
I opened an account with ING-affiliated ShareBuilder. They have a promo where you get $50 free if you sign up for an account and make one trade before March 2009. The page says 12/31/2008 but the email they sent me indicates March instead. I can put $50 into whatever I want and even if the value goes to 0 I still get my $50 back in 4-6 weeks :)
Disney's Bolt is coming out tomorrow and I know quite a few people going to see that one. RealD 3D technology is quite impressive. I didn't see Madagascar 2 nor James Bond: Quantum of Solace yet, but I might before they leave cinemas.
Adam and Tammy got iPhones this past weekend, joining the crowd of many who have adopted Apple's latest and highly popular gadget. $140/month for 2 lines though, yikes.
Brighthouse networks sent an invitation to all their subscribers with a free ticket to the Central Florida International Auto Show. No idea if I will go to that but it looks pretty cool nonetheless.

I'm watching C-SPAN live where the CEOs of Ford, GM, and Chrysler are begging for the $25 billion bailout from Congress.

I watched the launch of Endeavor last night, right on time at 7:55pm. I was coming home from Wal-Mart so I pulled into a nearby neighborhood that only has 2 houses in it. The whole thing was cleared of all trees, they built the model houses, and then the market tanked and nothing else has been built there. Nice open area without any lights.
I am down to just one active aquarium now, a 20 gallon one. Sold my 30 gallon setup on craigslist. The residents in the bigger one that were still alive got moved over. Most of those small tropical fish don't live more than 3-4 years, but some of the original inhabitants are still doing ok.

Watching House from last week, waiting for class to start at 8pm. My grade is currently > 100 so I'm happy about that.
Yesterday after work I went with Nate and Felipe to the Florida Tech CIS department open house at the Mighty Mushroom pizzaria. They had free beverages, pizza, and wings for people who were enrolled or interested in enrolling. Only a few people showed up besides us, so it wasn't a good turnout.
I got some McIntosh apples from Publix a few days ago... surprisingly they are quite good.

Getting artistic with food.
UPS let me down today. Leaving expensive stuff on the patio when I'm not here. At least they are doing better than DHL, which today announced that it is shutting down domestic services. We will have to start shipping Fedex at work instead of DHL.
Even that wasn't the biggest news today. This morning Circuit City declared chapter 11 bankruptcy, only a few days after announcing the closure of 155 stores.

Well, they say Obama got about 68% support from young voters :)
Sadly, I learned today that Micahel Crichton has passed away from cancer. He was only 66 years old. Thanks for all the great books, you will be missed.

Congratulations to Barack Obama, who has been declared president elect for 2008. McCain gave his concession speech a few minutes ago, and Obama is giving his victory speech on TV right now. He got plenty of electoral votes, enough that there's no chance of this election being contested. No FL recounts.
There will be some upset people at work tomorrow. But they will get over it.
AP said this: "Barack Obama swept to victory as the nation's first black president Tuesday night in an electoral college landslide that overcame racial barriers as old as America itself."

Digital TV transition PSA. Quite amusing.
Tomorrow is the big day. Ryan's going to have a little election-night party at his place because there's still a bunch of food and beer left over from the Halloween party. We will have a mix of Obama and McCain supporters there so that will be interesting.
I was sad to find out that Obama's grandmother died today of cancer, one day before the election.
