We are almost through cleaning up the network mess at work, lots of problems created with the domain switchover. Quite a few could have been avoided I think if they had handled the Exchange server process better. Oh well, Felipe and I are taking tomorrow off so the troubleshooting process starts again on Monday. He and his wife will be at the Food and Wine festival at Disney and I will be at the Audioholics convention at Disney (with Adam). It's supposed to have 80% chance of rain tomorrow but that's ok with me.
Today I mailed off my absentee ballot. Much better than voting in person because I could actually go online and research all the other things I had to vote for besides the presidential candidate. I can live without the "I voted!" sticker on November 4th. Now I can just sit back and enjoy the mud slinging for the next 2 weeks. Yes, I will continue to watch the coverage on Comedy Central.

I drove to lunch a couple days ago and Nate pointed to the then-full gas gauge and asked "does it ever go down?" Indeed it does, but lately it is taking less dollars to fill it back up which is always nice.
I guess pretty soon I'm going to be forced to think about Christmas. Gifts to get, including a wedding present for Tammy and Adam. The colder weather is certainly a welcome change.

One of the sites I frequent, yarisworld, was hacked. Their most-recent backup was a year ago. Way to go guys, a whole year of contributions lost.
Tomorrow is going to be bad at work. Not just for me, but for Felipe and our new IT director Linda. The domain migration happened late Friday and over the weekend, so Monday/Tuesday is when everybody will be discovering new problems.
I watched Kiss Kiss Bang Bang today, and it was odd but pretty funny. Yesterday I saw Body of Lies with Adam and Tammy, and later on Nate and Johan came over to watch the latest Indiana Jones movie. Friday night we had a dinner and drinks thing at TGI Fridays and Duffy's since it was Nate's last day with Harris Stratex. They did ask him to pay back the 12 months of tuition assistance which he seemed kinda upset about. Even though it is HSX policy.
Early voting starts tomorrow for Florida.

The Dow fell over 700 points today, just in time for the last presidential debate. That's done, watching Stewart and Colbert now.

The IT migration folks are in Melbourne this week to help us out. Unfortunately I might have to work Saturday. Today was Jason's last day and Nate is leaving on Friday. Nate will be at FTI though so he can still hang out at lunch once in a while.

The bailout bill passed the House and was just signed into law by president Bush. People were talking about it earlier at work, I don't think anybody was happy at the news. Especially not Scott, man was he pissed. But, we will see where it goes and how it affects Wall Street. I just wish it didn't have so many earmarks and pork barrel projects included in the bill, the Senate added about $100B to the original plan.
The debate last night was interesting, and Palin didn't do as badly as I thought she would. Biden definitely seemed pretty calm and professional, like Obama was in the debate last week.
